Civil energy self-defence in the Visegrad Group
The war in Ukraine has triggered various psychological, social, and economic reactions across societies. The main goal of the research conducted by our researcher Lukáš Tichý and his colleagues was to identify changes in social behavior and coping strategies in response to the unfolding, multifaceted energy crisis, which includes both rising prices and an increasing sense of threat to energy security.
The project gathered empirical data and new insights on how the energy crisis caused by the war in Ukraine can be used to accelerate the energy transition in the V4 countries, while simultaneously protecting citizens from rising energy and heating costs and the risk of expanding energy poverty in the region.
