The New US Administration and its Impact on International Law
We would like to cordially invite you to our event to discussing the impact of the new U.S. administration on international law with Dr Max Hilaire.
11. 11. 2024 (16:00)
Jazyk: English Institute of International Relations (Nerudova 257/3, Malá Strana, 118 00 Praha 1)
Join us for a thought-provoking presentation by Dr Max Hilaire, exploring the impact the next U.S. administration will have on international law. Regardless of the election outcome, the U.S.'s pivotal role in maintaining global peace, defending human rights, and upholding the rules-based international order means that the next administration will reshape international legal norms and significantly influence global events.
From shaping the wars in Ukraine and the Middle East to enhancing human rights and international humanitarian law, the U.S. leadership will play a crucial role. Vice President Harris is expected to emphasise continuity and multilateral cooperation, addressing global challenges. In contrast, a new Trump administration could bring greater instability, nativism, and disregard for international law, potentially leading the U.S. and the world into darker times.
