“Towards sustainable, resilient and inclusive societies through participation of all”
The Institute of International Relations is outstandingly pleased to co-host the ECOSOC Preparatory Meeting taking place in Prague this monday 26th March 2018. It forms part of the special initiative of the Czech ECOSOC presidency on sustainable, resilient and inclusive societies through participation of all, an initiative which will contributes to the achievement of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. This meeting provides the participants with a platform to share best practices on participation and concrete examples of policy action, as well as to discuss the impact of the involvement of civil society and other non-state actors in implementing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
We are glad to bring together a wide range of relevant stakeholders, including high-level representatives from governments, the UN, academia, civil society and the private sector. Keynote addresses will be delivered by government representatives of the Czech Republic and Colombia, the co-hosting country. The discussion and exchange will therefore benefit from the participation of a diversity of relevant actors, covering all areas that are crucial to a successful implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
