Institute of International Relations is a Part of a Successful Project in the Johannes Amos Comenius Programme
The INTERFER project, led by the Institute of International Studies of the Faculty of Social Sciences of the Charles University, received the best evaluation in the call "Social sciences and humanities: man and humanity in the global challenges of today". Our institute is a part of the consortium.
On 1 January 2025, the INTERFER project will start on the topic of Foreign Interference by Foreign Powers in the Context of Current Geopolitical and Technological Changes. The consortium under the expert leadership of doc. Michal Smetana from the Institute of International Studies of the Faculty of Social Sciences (Charles University in Prague) will create a unique inter-institutional platform focused on excellent research on the issue of foreign interference in four specific areas — the impact on public opinion, the domestic and foreign policy adaptation of states to the threat and the current technological transformation of foreign interference tools of foreign powers.
Team of our researchers, along with members from FSV UK, will focus on the politics of technology in foreign interference, exploring how digital technologies are reshaping global geopolitics and international relations.
In addition to the Institute of International Relations and the Faculty of Social Sciences, Masaryk University and the University of Ostrava are also involved in the project.
INTERFER, which will run for four years, was an outstanding success in the evaluation — it received 147 points out of 150 and was ranked first in the call "Social Sciences and Humanities: man and humanity in the global challenges of today".
The Johannes Amos Comenius Programme (P JAC, OP JAK in Czech) supports lifelong learning and the development of skills needed to adapt to rapid changes such as digitalisation and climate change. The programme focuses on ensuring the long-term employability of individuals in society and reflects the priority themes funded by the European Union in the 2021-2027 programming period.
Congratulations to Linda Monsees and all the others on their outstanding success!
