Development
Development is a practice, discourse, and material process which should lead to a realisation of the human potential. There is a multitude of value judgements on what is development and what is not. The dominant theories assume development as an accelerated process of economic growth and movement of the so-called developing nations along the path charted by the so-called developed nations. In the IIR, we apply alternative theories which critically engage with the constant demand of economic growth and catch-up with the developed nations. Instead, this development expects a widespread economic justice, social well-being and environmental regeneration.
